2025 Aprilia Tuono 457 Is the New King of Fun Naked Bikes for Young Riders
At the EICMA show in Milan last year, Italian bike maker Aprilia pulled the wraps off something called the RS 457. Designed to appeal to holders of an A2 license, it was supposed to be a tool for the company to appear on the radar of young riders who would have otherwise ignored the brand.

It is that bike that now forms the basis of a model called Tuono 457, it too presented at the EICMA show in Italy this week.

The bike is no regular two-wheeler, as it is described by its maker as the one that offers the best power to weight ratio in its class. A naked by trade, it is thus the only Tuono out there that doesn't offer a fairing integrated into the aluminum frame, but also the first one to get a pared-back light cluster.

The bike was designed to be new from the ground up, but there are throwbacks to previous models to be seen in there. The LED light cluster, for instance, is a nod to the Tuono 1000 R.

I said earlier the bike offers the best power to weight ratio in its class. To properly understand what that means you should consider the fact that the ride is powered by a liquid-cooled 457cc twin-cylinder engine, the same as on the RS 457, that develops, as per A2 requirements, just 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm of torque.

Now that we have that number, we should put it next to the bike's weight. The new 457 tips the scales at just 351 pounds (159 kg) dry. Simple math should put Aprilia's bold statement into perspective.

The suspension system chosen for the bike comprises a 41 mm fork with 120 mm of travel at the front and a rear shock with 130 mm of travel. The bike's seat has been designed in such a way that it stands 800 mm from the ground.

The Tuono 457 rides on 17-inch wheels that are brought to a halt by means of ByBre braking hardware and utilize a Bosch two-channel ABS system.

Aprilia is particularly proud of the electronics that went into the bike. A ride-by-wire system, for instance, allows riders to choose from three riding modes (Eco, Sport, and Rain), each of them modifying power, torque, and traction control settings.

Then, we have the five-inch TFT screen that can be controlled by means of back-lit commands installed on the handlebar. The system supports a smartphone connection, allowing access to infotainment features.

The Aprilia Tuono 457 will be offered at an undisclosed time in two color choices, namely Piranha Red and Puma Gray. The bike maker said nothing about pricing for the model, so getting in touch with your local dealer might be the smart thing to do.
