This Is the Last Porsche 911 Dakar—And It's Lovely
Porsche Sonderwunsch created the custom look for the final 911 Dakar.

The Porsche 911 Dakar looks great, even without a fancy paint job. That said, the high-riding sports car does have a few throwback liveries like the Rothman's-inspired scheme or the Rallye 1971 look that give it an even racier appearance. But with all 2,500 examples of the 911 Dakar already claimed, the company is sending off its unique sports car in style.

This one-of-a-kind Dakar was commissioned by an Italian collector and created by Porsche's Sonderwunsch customization department. It wears a Rallye Design Package with a three-tone paint job of Signal Yellow, Gentian Blue Metallic, and a new Lampedusa Blue—named after the Italian Mediterranean island.

The upper portion of the body wears the sumptuous Signal Yellow, while a wave-like Lampedusa Blue accent separates it from the darker Gentian Blue Metallic. The wheels are painted in Signal Yellow and have Lampedusa Blue accents around the edge of the rim, and even the LED headlights have a subtle Lampedusa accent ring.

Those colors extend to the interior with Signal Yellow accents and stitching lining the center console, dash, and door panels. The 911 Dakar logo is stitched into the front headrests of the Sports Seats Plus in the same color—and even the shifter gets a subtle Signal Yellow accent.

Nothing changes in the power department—the 911 Dakar still has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six making 475 horsepower. It’s paired to an eight-speed PDK gearbox and standard all-wheel drive. It takes just 3.4 seconds for the sports car to reach 60 miles per hour.

The livery was done entirely by hand, and Porsche worked closely with the customer to create the custom look. But before it heads to Italy and into the hands of its very lucky new owner, the car will be on display at the Porsche Museum in Germany.

We’ll miss you, 911 Dakar.
