For the fall that's just around the corner, the strategy seems to be to adopt the smallest of changes for the range of side-by-sides and ATVs it sells, or none at all in some cases. For the fall that's just around the corner, the strategy seems to be to adopt the smallest of changes for the range of side-by-sides and ATVs it sells, or none at all in some cases.
The Japanese company announced this week what powersports models will be making a comeback for the 2026 model year, and what changes they will carry with them, if any. Don't expect a revolution in this respect, because why mess with something that works, but at least we now know when the new hardcore vehicles will be available for purchase, and how much they will cost for the new model year.
Honda imagined the most changes for the 2026 Pioneer 700, one of the most important side-by-sides on the market. Compared to what came before it, the new version throws in more storage compartments for both personal items and cargo, an USB-C port to handle smartphone charging, Kenda Mastodon tires to move easier over rough terrain, and enhanced debris-penetration protection.
In its new incarnation the side-by-side will be offered in six trim levels (equally divided between two- and four-seat configurations), but its mechanical bits remain the same across the board: a 675cc fuel-injected engine to get it going, an automatic transmission to control it, and long-travel suspension to ensure no type of terrain stands in its way.
The entry-level Pioneer 700 comes in Hero Red and will sell from September starting at $12,899, while the top of the range Pioneer 700-4 Forest in TrueTimber Atera Camo wears a sticker that reads $17,999.
The company's smallest side-by-side, the Pioneer 520, is making a comeback for the 2026 model year, powered by the same 518cc engine as before and still capable of carrying 1,000 pounds (454 kg) of cargo behind it. Available in three different colors, this model will be available from September for prices that are yet to be announced.
Moving on to the ATV side of the aisle, Honda throws into the fight the 2026 FourTrax Rubicon 700 4x4 Automatic, the most powerful such machine in its lineup. The four-wheeler relies on the same mechanical setup as before, including the TraxLok 2WD/4WD system, and displays the same capabilities, including 848-pound (385 kg) towing capacity, for prices that start at $9,999.
Last but not least comes the 2026 FourTrax Recon, the smallest multipurpose ATV the Japanese offer their American customers. This one too is unchanged from before, with the 229cc engine in its chassis allowing it to tow up to 500 pounds (227 kg) of cargo. When this one hits the shelves in October, Honda will be asking at least $4,849 for it.
