Alfa Romeo’s new concept car has a name ahead of its debut. It’s called the Cuorerosso, and the automaker will reveal the vehicle at this month’s Paris Motor Show.
Alfa also dropped a new teaser video announcing the name that appears to capture the exhaust note. It sounds like a sporty V6 engine, but the overlaid music gets in the way of the details.
From the glimpses we have seen so far, Alfa’s new concept looks like a sleek sports car. The automaker previously said that this concept is a “vision for the future,” and we expect it will likely preview the brand’s future design language and intent.
The latest teaser video appears to show a headlight, but it’s obscured. It looks like what you would expect from a new sports car with a low nose: slim, swept-back headlights.
There also appears to be a shot of the rear taillights, but it’s impossible to discern any details. This fits with what we have already seen: a rear three-quarter shot of something sleek and sporty.
The exhaust audio sounds like a V6 engine. We would not be surprised if it is similar to Maserati’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6. The engine already powers the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, which Alfa still proudly listed in its current lineup back in May.
Cuorerosso combines two Italian words: Cuore (heart) and Rosso (red), and roughly translates to Red Heart. According to Alfa Romeo, the name “encapsulates the brand’s deepest essence,” pairing red, the color of passion, with heart, the symbol of the relationship that unites drivers with its cars.
Alfa says the Cuorerosso is a “declaration of intent” meant to excite enthusiasts and highlight the brand’s “full creative strength.” Despite the flowery language, we don’t have any actual details about the concept.
While a new sports car sounds exciting, Alfa Romeo has not revealed any plans for one. In May, the company confirmed it will launch a new compact crossover and a new specialty vehicle developed with Maserati under the Bottega Fuoriserie project.
The new SUV will sit alongside the Tonale in Alfa’s lineup, with next-generation versions of the Stelvio and Giulia expected eventually. Engineers are redesigning them to accommodate combustion engines.
Stellantis has divided its numerous brands into three categories: Core, Heritage, and Regional. Alfa is now considered a regional brand alongside Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, and Opel.
Alfa continues to struggle in the United States. The brand’s sales are already down 45 percent through the first half of this year, after falling by half between 2022 and 2025.
The automaker will reveal the concept at the Paris Motor Show. Alfa’s press conference is scheduled for October 12.
